Local Startup Friday feature: Afridelivery

 

Afridelivery is an online platform that lets you place orders for food from restaurants within Lusaka to be delivered to your selected location. It is owned by an international IT company called Afrionline based in over 6 countries founded by Wallace Ngige.

Additionally Afridelivery has also partnered with retailers, allowing users to have access to other goods such as alcohol, water, groceries and pharmaceutical products (e.g non prescription medication, beauty products etc).All their restaurants and retailers come with full menus and catalogues, and ordering can be done via their mobile apps both for IOS and Android or via their web app.

Many factors contributed to creating or launching AfriDelivery including increased fuel prices, increased traffic. Our lives have increasingly become busier and people have often neglected eating and tend to not have time to go out and buy their own groceries. When a customer wants to make an order, they will need to access either the mobile or web app, follow the instructions to create account and set location. When this is done, they can easily select their favourite restaurant /category, meal/product and preferred mode of payment when placing an order. Once the customer receives confirmation of the order, they can track Afridelivery’s  riders via the mobile/web app until their order is delivered.

Our goal is to provide a platform that is convenient, stress free and fast. With Afridelivery you don’t need to go on a manhunt looking for menus or phone numbers to order your food and goods. You don’t have to leave your home or office and get stuck in traffic or wait in queues. We take all the hassle away from you. We place the order for you with the restaurant and send a driver to pick up your food for delivery right to your door-step. If you have any problems with your food, we take care of that for you.
