Samsung Zambia’s ‘Dream Big’ Competition Winners Return From AFCON

Having launched the Dream Big competition before Orange Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) began, Samsung Zambia gave a chance to some lucky consumers to win an all expenses paid trip to watch the final AFCON game between Ivory Coast and Ghana. They returned last night in Lusaka, having enjoyed their time there.

Welcoming back the group of the 18 ‘Dream Big’ winners and partners last evening, Samsung Electronics Business Leader James Chona said to them, “Through the Dream Big Promotion, we are delighted to be a part of your dream having watching this epic fial Live in Equatorial Guinea”.

The Dream Big promotion was intended to bring football loving consumers much closer to their favorite football stars, and it worked.

Speaking enthusiastically, one of the winners Collen Banda said, “As a football loving country, Zambians should experience the tournament at least once. I was part of group that was sent to Equatorial Guinea, we saw how football makes a meaningful connection with people from all walks of life.”

When it comes to corporate social responsibilities (CSRs), Samsung knows how to give back to their communities in many ways. Last year they launched a digital village on the outskirts of Lusaka, which is probably one of the notable projects they have rolled out so far, seeing as very few Zambians have access to technology or electricity and Samsung made it easier to have both.
