Samsung offering Marshmallow update on Galaxy S6 first!
In a post today, Samsung has announced that it will offer the Android v6.0 Marshmallow update starting with the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge phones:
“Samsung Electronics plan to provide the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update starting with Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge on February 15, 2016, and other GALAXY devices will soon follow.
For upgradable models, Samsung will make separate announcements on details of OS updates schedule for each market according to market situation and carriers’ requirements.
With the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update, Samsung provides the enhanced edge screen and new edge screen features, which are the unique user interface of the beautifully curved edge screen to the next level, making it faster and more convenient than ever.”
As of right now there is no update on the Galaxy S6 meaning Zambians should give it a bit more time to roll out because of ‘market situations and carrier requirements’; euphemism for it takes a while to reach Zambia.
The Marshmallow update promises efficient battery use, higher productivity and improved Android Runtime (the application performance) on devices. Check out all the Marshmallow features here.
