Samsung Galaxy S10 to be launched on 20th February
Samsung just announced its Unpacked event for 20th February 2019 on its site and we can definitely expect its new Samsung Galaxy S10 phone, the upgrade to the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus, as its 10th anniversary flagship phone.
The phone may look something like this according to Ghostek, who hardly get things wrong as they’ve even started designing phone cases ahead of the phone’s production:
Among some of the features expected in the S10 are a punch-hole camera in the front screen. Something like this:
The image above was accidentally posted to Samsung’s site when they were announcing their One UI. The leaked image was then shared to Reddit and went viral from there.
The screen in the concept images of the Gaalay S10 hint at something towards advanced split screen features.
Tech analysts are predicting the Samsung Galaxy S10 will be quite expensive. According to Forbes ‘the flat-screen Samsung Galaxy S10 will cost $845 with 128GB of storage, the standard Galaxy S10 will have 128GB and 512GB storage options costing $1,009 and $1,260 respectively. The larger Galaxy S10 Plus will cost $1,135 for 128GB, $1,390 for 512GB and $1,750 for a new 1TB option.’ There may be a 5G model released later on in the year.
At this price it’s hard to predict sales projections. Samsung is facing huge competition from Chinese phonemakers like Huawei whose devices are competing in performance and selling for much less than Samsung or even Apple.
We also expect to see a foldable smartphone unveiled at this event.
I can only share actual specifications when the Galaxy S10 is officially released. You can watch the live stream on the day from news.samsung.com/global, www.samsungmobilepress.com, www.samsung.com/galaxy or www.samsung.com.
