Review of the new Samsung Galaxy S10
Samsung just announced their new range of Galaxy smartphones, the Samsung Galaxy S10, which comes in 4 variants: S10, S10+, S10e and S10 5G.
Design
The screen on the Galaxy S10e is 5.8”, Galaxy S10 is 6.1” and Galaxy S10+ is 6.4”. The screens are super bezel-less with what they call Infinity O display with no notch where the camera previously used to be, as the camera is now slotted in the screen as a punch-hole. The screen has Super AMOLED display, which by default comes with a resolution of Full HD that can be changed to Quad HD in Settings for the Galaxy S10+ and S10. The screen is also HDR10+ certified for the Infinity O screen to enable users see clearly in broad daylight. It’s Dynamic AMOLED also adjusts blue light on-screen for night viewing.
Material
The S10 comes in glass or ceramic. The ceramic version only available on 8GB/512GB and 12GB/1TB Galaxy S10+ models.The Galaxy S10 and S10+ front glass is made of Gorilla Glass 6. The rear glass on Galaxy S10 and S10+ and all of Galaxy S10e are made with Gorilla Glass 5.
Fingerprint
The S10 comes with a new feature for fingerprint sensors, a display that uses sound waves to detect your fingertip in 3D for the Galaxy S10 and S10+. Galaxy S10e has a Fingerprint Scanner located on the power button instead.
Perfomance
Samsung’s Galaxy S10 comes with Android 9.0 and runs on up to 12GB RAM. Internal storage comes at expandable by up to 512GB, except the S10+ that can be expanded by up to 1TB.
Camera
The S10 comes with a 3 rear cameras: a telephoto camera for enhanced zooming, a wide-angle camera for everyday use, and an ultra wide camera for panoramic shots. The 8MP RGB depth front camera is only available on Galaxy S10+. The Galaxy S10 has 3 rear cameras and 1 front camera, while the Galaxy S10e has 2 rear cameras and 1 front camera.
Battery
The Galaxy S10+ has a 4100mAh battery, the Galaxy S10 has 3400mAh, and the Galaxy S10e has 3100mAh battery capacity. All come with Ultra Power Saving Mode.
Wireless PowerShare
The new Galaxies come with a feature, Wireless PowerShare, that enables you to charge another device with any of the S10 ones. You just need to place the device on the back of the S10 device after turning on the feature for it to charge.
