Global PC sales shrink 9.6% in 2016 first quarter
Marketing Research group Gartner has shared preliminary results of the number of PC sales worldwide, putting Lenovo as the top selling brand globally:

The fall in number is due to the increased sales in tablets and other handheld smart devices and laptops. These PC numbers took desktops, notebooks and ultramobile premium devices into consideration. said Mikako Kitagawa, principal analyst at Gartner said:
“The deterioration of local currencies against the U.S. dollar continued to play a major role in PC shipment declines. Our early results also show there was an inventory buildup from holiday sales in the fourth quarter of 2015.”
She also said that in many countries, especially emerging ones , the focus seems to be on attaining smartphones, reducing the adoption of PCs into their homes, eventually lowering sales in those parts of the world for PCs.
