Nkwazi Technologies: Soaring High with Custom Software Solutions

Nkwazi Technologies was formed in 2018 by Chalwe Lubemba, Chinyimba Mando and Chunga Chewe while in their final year of varsity; the trio realized that despite Zambia’s rapid adoption of new technologies, there was still a significant gap between the general Zambian public and access to technology. They also noted that the market was brimming with untapped potential to offer tech-oriented products and services that people didn’t even know they needed. 

 With this in mind, they decided to establish a company that would not only promote technology to all types of businesses but also create custom software for businesses that did not conform to the conventional mould. As soon as the trio got the exams out of their way, they began the process of starting their company; after a bit of a brainstorming session, Chalwe came up with the Company’s Name, Nkwazi. The name, derived from the Nyanja language, means ‘Eagle.’ 

“I’m not much of a poet, but I’ve always loved the connotations of freedom and strength that are attached to the bird, and it is these qualities, the ability to adapt and go as far as necessary, that I hoped our small and young team would capitalize on”, said co-founder Chalwe.
