MTN Zambia partners with Huawei to Launch Ascend G6
MTN Zambia has brought another droid to the market, this time with the Ascend G6. According to the Times of Zambia, written by Tiza Nyimbiri for 2nd September, 2014, the launch of the Huawei Ascend G6 sees the two ventures pick up after a successful partnership on the Ascend P6.
MTN Zambia’s CMO is quoted as saying that the Ascend G6 will be very profitable for them given its “price.” Clement Asante said the company decided to partner with Huawei to roll out the smartphone due to its wide-ranging modern features, which all come at a “massively reduced” retail recommended price designed to broaden its customer base. The expected retail price is K2, 200, which for an Android device with it’s features is a heck of a bargain.
The Huawei Ascend G6 is a 4G/LTE device with an excellent front camera – for all those selfies – good battery life, and capable of fast high-speed connection via its 4G/LTE radios. For its value it has a good mix of features, performance and design, running on Huawei’s skin for the UI with a 4.5″ screen powered by , running Android 4.2.2 (JellyBean) upgradable to KitKat and with a primary camera that can snap descent-enough pixels, this indeed will pick up where the Ascend P6 left off with similar colour options and accessories.
Be sure to check out the MTN stores or website for more details. We wait for Airtel Zambia and Zamtel to see if they can beat this sweet deal, as most of us Droiders are always in the market for a bargain to upgrade or switch – and out appetite is growing.
