MTN Zambia launches Chimwela Celebration, its end of year promo

MTN Zambia is reaffirming its position as Zambia’s number 1 network by rewarding customer loyalty through a promotion that allows MTN customers to win cash prizes, solar panels and various devices whenever a customer undertakes an airtime recharge of at least K2.

‘Chimwela Celebration’ is MTN Zambia’s end of year promotion and will run for three months from November 2019 to January 2020. MTN customers will stand to win prizes whenever they purchase airtime worth at least K2 which will earn them points for the weekly draws.

Speaking in Lusaka, MTN Zambia Chief Executive Officer, Bart Hofker said, ‘Our customers are at the heart of what we do, and we always seek to go above and beyond to ensure that we provide affordable devices and efficient digital products and services. The year 2019 is still dedicated as ‘the Year of the Customer’ and we will continue to work hard to ensure that we deliver the most innovative products and services to meet the needs of our customers and bridge the digital divide.’

Mr. Hofker also said that the ‘Chimwela Celebration’ promotion was a way for MTN Zambia to say thank you to its customers for their long-standing loyalty that has made MTN Zambia’s number 1 network.

‘We have continued to enjoy the support and good will of our subscribers in Zambia and that is something we are grateful for. We have scored numerous successes in the year 2019, key among them has been the massive growth we are experiencing on our Mobile Money platform. We now have over 2 million active customers on MoMo and that is a sure testament of the confidence that our customers have in us,’ he said.

MTN Zambia Chief Marketing Officer, Seun Soladoye says the ‘Chimwela Celebration’ promises numerous exciting rewards and prizes for MTN subscribers.

‘We will have more than 1,000 winners of cash prizes of up to K10,000 on a weekly basis. There will also be lucky winners who will walk away with 3G and 4G Smartphones as well as winners of Solar Kits. There is no entry into the draw, all that the customer needs to do is to recharge with K2 or more and they automatically gain points into the draw. The more you recharge, the more your chances of winning,’ he said.

Mr. Soladoye further reveals that there is no procedure to enter the draw as customers will automatically be entered into the draw merely by purchasing airtime and stand a chance to win any of the many prizes available
