MTN Business and Kudu Consulting Partner to Support Women Entrepreneurs

MTN Business and Kudu Consulting, an organization funded by the World Bank, have announced that they have entered into an agreement to support SME- focused women entrepreneurs in Zambia.

Kudu Consulting is an implementing partner of Zambia Women Entrepreneurs and Finance
Initiative (We-Fi) which targets to reach 1,000 Women led SMEs by June 2023 with current
enrollment and alumni of more than 685.

The MTN Business General Manager, Mildred Chica said, “We are excited to partner with Zambia We-Fi to drive the growth of women-led businesses. As a leading provider of ICT solutions, we have seen the impact that technology can have on businesses, particularly SMEs. With this partnership, we can help bridge the gap in access to finance and technology for women entrepreneurs, enabling them to achieve their full potential.”

We-Fi Program Coordinator, Maxime Harlaar added “The partnership with MTN Business is a critical step towards unlocking the potential of women entrepreneurs in Zambia. MTN Business’s expertise in digital solutions and our support in financing and capacity building, we will help women entrepreneurs access the resources they need to succeed.”

She added, “The We-Fi program will provide Women SMEs financial access and management training which they can invest in their businesses and grow their operations.

She said, “SMEs play an important role in the Zambian economy as they represent 97% of all businesses, 88% of employment opportunities and contribute 70% of Zambia’s GDP. A partnership such as this one, promises to improve SME business performance for them to become more competitive.”
