MTN and Airtel’s iPhone 6 Pre-orders Go Live
Both mobile operators now have pre-orders for the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus available for their subscribers. All you have to do is go to their respective websites and fill out pre-order forms.
For MTN, go here. The offers are for the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus types.
The MTN offer is K5,600 for the iPhone 6 and K6,600 for the iPhone 6 Plus. Buyers will also receive 1GB data and 100 SMSes for 3 months.
For Airtel, (pre-order here) the offers are the 16 and 64 GB variants of the iPhone 6.
The phones will come in bundled packages. The iPhone 6 16GB is going for K6,500 and will come with 1G FREE Starter Bundle plus 20MB every day for 6 months while the iPhone 6 64GB is at K7,500 and will come with 1GB FREE Starter Bundle and 20MB every day for 6 months.
The better offer seems to come from MTN with regard to the price the 16GB iPhone 6 is being sold for, K5600 from MTN compared to K6500 from Airtel.
The iPhone 6 Plus offer from MTN is also only K100 more than the 64GB iPhone 6 offer from Airtel so if you want a larger sized iPhone 6 Plus, you could always get the MTN offer.
Airtel is giving more data for a longer period of time, i.e 1GB upon purchase and then 20MB everyday for 6 months. MTN has offered 1GB once off and then a 100 SMSes everyday for 3 months only.
If you’re worried about space being too little, there’s microSD slots in all the phones so the space is not a big deal.
The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus have very similar features under the hood. The only thing that sets them apart is the size difference, and a clearer screen and a battery that lasts longer in the iPhone 6 Plus. For a detailed review of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, read more here.
