Create mini looping videos with Instagram’s Boomerang app
Instagram launched Boomerang app late last year and if you haven’t tried it, you should! It’s very addictive but you may need to be patient with it.
Boomerang is basically a GIF-like looped video-making app. You can take a very short video of yourself of an object/person in motion and it will capture a series of 10 burst shots that are stitched together to create a micro-video that you can post to Instagram, Facebook and other social networks.
You don’t need to sign up for Boomerang but you have to log into your external social networks to share what you make with it.
The issue most users according to the Google Play store reviews have is that the filming time of the app is too short so they have to re-record the motion a few times before getting one they like. The shortness of the capture time is great, we think, as it allows for the funniest unexpected videos to be created.
Why is it called Boomerang? Well, the video loops forth and back, a lot! Some users have suggested the developers enable editing options in it such as filters, and also allow users to use the app to create Boomerang clips from other existing videos.
It currently has over 5 million downloads on the Google Play Store alone. Download it here for Android and here for iOS.
