Information and Media PS visits MultiChoice Zambia
Information and Media Permanent Secretary, Kennedy Kalunga today visited MultiChoice Zambia on a familiarization tour.
The visit forms part of the familiarization visits to media-related institutions and stakeholders that are being undertaken by the Permanent Secretary since his appointment.
Speaking after the tour Mr. Kalunga said: “As Government, we treasure the relationship we have with stakeholders like MultiChoice Zambia. We will continue to create a favourable environment that supports private sector investment and involvement in the film and broadcasting industries.”
He further thanked MultiChoice Zambia for their continued support to the government and the creative industry adding that the organization’s work in the last 26 years in Zambia has been beneficial.
“MultiChoice is empowering local film makers with jobs as they work on different productions such as Mpali and Zuba, some of the popular shows among many viewers in the country. Our film industry is now competing favourably internationally because of Multichoice Zambia,” he remarked.
MultiChoice Zambia, Managing Director, Leah Kooma welcomed the Permanent Secretary and appreciated him for visiting MultiChoice since taking up his appointment as Permanent Secretary in the ministry.
“We are honored to have the Information and Media, Permanent Secretary at MultiChoice. We have shared with the PS our experiences and our commitment to continue contributing to national development by providing employment opportunities as well as supporting the creative industry,” said Mrs. Kooma.
She added: “As MultiChoice, we are very proud of our partnership with government because it has enabled us to effectively support the creative industry as well as carry out initiatives that have enriched the lives of people.
Mr. Kalunga’s tour of MultiChoice comes barely three months after Information and Media Minister Hon. Chushi Kasanda who is also Chief Government Spokesperson paid a visit to MultiChoice Zambia head office.
