Google to launch new Nexus phones with LG and Huawei, end of September
Google will be hosting an event on the 29th of September to launch its latest Nexus device, which it partnered with Huawei to build, and what seems to be an upgraded Nexus 5 that was built with LG.
The Huawei Nexus 6 (2015) is expected to be a phablet of 5.7 inches, similar to the current Nexus 6, while the LG Nexus 5 (2015) will be 5.2 inches. Both Nexuses (‘Nexi’, ‘Nexes’?) will be running on Google’s latest operating system, Android 6.0 Marshmallow seeing as the Nexus range is usually first in line for new Android OS releases.
The LG Nexus 5, being called the Nexus 5X, may have the following features, as reported by Android Police:
- 5.2-inch full HD 1080p display
- 12.3 MP camera and 5 MP front camera
- Snapdragon 808 Adreno 418 GPU processor
- 3GB of RAM
- 16/32 GB storage
- 2700mAh batteryUSB-Type
It may also be thinner than the original Nexus 5, as seen from the image above by AndroidPit.
As for the Huawei Nexus 6, all you can expect is a quad-HD screen with the same features under the hood as the Nexus 5 (2015), or Nexus 5X.
Let’s wait for the 29th to see what they really have going on. This may be a chance for Huawei, which has mostly penetrated Asia and Africa, to enter European and American markets as working with Google adds an added level of trust to the use of their devices.
