As part of ongoing efforts to keep its valued customers informed about news and current affairs that affect them, MultiChoice Africa is delighted to announce that all countries that are part of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region will have access to view current affairs and news around the SADC Summit taking place in Tanzania from 16th to 19th August 2019.

The TBC channel (Tanzania Broadcasting Corporation, a Free-To-Air channel available in Tanzania) will be opened up to all SADC region countries for viewers to catch the 39th SADC Summit live from Julius Nyerere International Conversation Centre in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Jacqueline Woiso, Managing Director of MultiChoice Tanzania commented: “At MultiChoice, we are keen to use our broad network in Africa to inform and entertain African communities and we are highly gratified that our partnership with the TBC has enabled this unprecedented opportunity to share historic moments happening in Tanzania with all viewers across the SADC region.”

This initiative is a testament that the partnership between TBC and DStv plays an instrumental role in promoting private and public partnerships through technology in Tanzania.

The Government of Tanzania Spokesperson Dr. Hassan Abbasi, stated: “The government through TBC is well positioned to share the proceedings of the high level event not only with Tanzanian citizens but also with audiences beyond its geographical borders. It is an honour to document and be part of this momentous occasion.”

The SADC Summit brings together, once a year, Southern African Heads of State and governments to deliberate on various issues ranging from economic development, peace & security and poverty alleviation through regional integration services founded on democratic principles and on equitable and sustainable development.

The TBC (SADC) channel will be available on DStv channel 199 and will be opened to active DStv Premium, Compact+, Compact, Family & Access packages in Angola, Botswana, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Lesotho, Eswatini, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
