DotCom Zambia have been presented with the Partners Guide Golden Ribbon Award for their
innovative e-Business solutions for small and medium sized Zambian companies. The initiative will
create an e-commerce platform for local companies to trade and market their goods/services on
both local and international markets.

The Award was received by DotCom Zambia Managing Director, Mawano Kambeu at their Olympia
Park offices this morning in a short presentation ceremony organised by the Partners Group,
publishers of the Partners Guide Magazine as part of their 10 th anniversary celebrations.
Speaking at the event, Kambeu said he was honoured to receive the award and vowed to ensure the
Dotcom team would continue working hard to ensure the project, which is supported by the Private
Enterprise Programme Zambia (PEPZ), achieves its goals. “The project is still in its infancy but we are
looking to work with about 50 local companies in the next 12 months and grow from there. There is
no limit to how many businesses we can take on once at full operation with the long term goal being
to create a sustainable revenue generating business platform with low barriers to entry.

“Our goal is to help local SMEs expand their business reach and grow their revenue and be able to
compete on any market across the globe.”

As part of a wider support strategy, DotCom Zambia are offering subscription free participation for
female entrepreneurs using the platform.

“Our Lusaka and Kitwe offices will handle the domestic and the Common Market for Easter and
Southern Africa (COMESA) regional platforms. Our warehouses in the UK and USA will then service
clients as fulfilment centres for the global platform which will include access to platforms like eBay
and Amazon as well as the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) initiative.”

ABOUT THE GOLDEN RIBBON AWARD
Every quarter, analysts from the Partners Guide monitor the media, bookmarking articles about
positive contributions that businesses have made to Zambia during that quarter and engage in
further research, selecting the top 5 companies who have made notable contributions to Zambia in
that period. Selected personnel from the winning companies are then presented with a certificate of
commendation along with a gift basket by the Partners Group supported by T. Jensen Limo Services.
