Cartoon Network and TNT to launch in HD on DStv
As part of its ongoing commitment towards re-imagining television for its African audiences, Turner will launch its first high-definition channels, Cartoon Network and TNT, on 18 December on DStv in Africa.
The switch to HD is a direct response to the needs of African audiences, ensuring a truly immersive viewing experience. Viewers will enjoy watching their favourite kid’s channel, Cartoon Network (DStv channel 301) and access to the American blockbuster channel, TNT (DStv channel 137), in high-definition.
This move comes just in time for new Cartoon Network shows such as Summer Camp Island, coming in December, and Pop Up Party, a vibrant and energetic local initiative premiering in January. If you’re looking for action driven, pulse-raising blockbusters, mixed with romantic gems and hilarious comedy, TNT is premiering Pitch Perfectalongside iconic titles like Rocky Balboa and Blade Runner.
“The addition of our new HD channel speaks to our commitment to provide our viewers with the best available content on the best available platform, highlighting our drive to continuously innovate,” says Guillaume Coffin, Vice President and Head of Commercial and Business Development, Turner France and Africa. “African fans remain our top priority and we look forward to seeing their response following the shift to HD.”
