Apple will now tell you if a new update will slow your old phone

Due to complaints the world over, we can now have some hope that Apple will let us know if iDevices will slow down whenever a new software update is rolled out.

In 2017, the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) in the United Kingdom expressed concerns that people did not know how a new operating system update would affect their phone’s performance.

‘To ensure compliance with consumer law Apple has formally agreed to improve the information it provides to people about the battery health of their phones and the impact performance management software may have on their phones.’ – CMA

If Apple does not comply, the CMA can take the company to court.

This benefits even Apple users in other parts of the world as they will know what effect the update has on their phones at the same time.
