Airtel Zambia Launches Airtel Money Pay To Ease Merchant Transactions
Airtel Zambia launched Airtel Money Pay on the Airtel Money platform, targeted at business owners to receive payments to their mobile money wallet.
The service is available on *115# option 6 under “My Account/PIN”. Merchants can then onboard themselves using option 6 “Self onboard as a merchant”. They can then enter their business name, select option 1 to “Agree”, and finally enter their pin to confirm the account.
The merchant account will then be linked to the KYC details of the business owner.
To create a Child Till
A Child Till is a sub-wallet that allows merchants to assign other numbers to their staff that can receive payments. The prerequisite is that the Child Till number must have a zero account balance i.e a new SIM card, and the KYC details will be the same as the Head Till number (those of the merchant). The steps to create one are:
- Dal *115#
- Select “Airtel Money Pay”
- Select “Biz_Account”
- Select “Till Manager”
- Select “New Till”
- Enter MSISDN – the new number that will be the Child Till
- Enter PIN – the Airtel Money PIN for the Head Till
Merchants can create as many Child Tills as they need. The Child Till should be kept active throughout by making calls or sending SMSes.
How to withdraw funds from till
- From Head Till to personal account
- Dial *115#
- Select “Airtel Money Pay”
- Select “Withdraw_Cash”
- Select “My Number”
The money will be moved to your personal mobile money account.

- Select “Airtel Money Pay”
- Select “Withdraw_Cash”
- Select “Agent”
3. From Child Till to Head Till
- Dial *115#
- Select “Airtel Money Pay”
- Select “withdraw_Cash”
- Select “Pull funds from Tills”

The subscriber will then receive a prompt to confirm payment to the Till and enter their PIN.
