Airtel scoops “Best Dividend Award” at LUSE Corporate Governance Awards
Airtel Networks Zambia Plc, has for the 2nd year running scooped the ‘Best Dividend Award’ at the Corporate Governance annual awards of the Lusaka Stock Exchange (LuSE) held at the Radisson Blu Hotel.
The awards which are held annually to recognise listed Companies that exceptionally adhere to the LuSe Corporate Governance Code and were graced by Ministry of Finance Permanent Secretary – Budget and Economic Affairs, Dr. Emmanuel Pamu, (representing the Minister, Mrs. Margaret Mwanakatwe) saw Airtel walk away with the 2018 ‘Best Dividend Payer’award.
Receiving the award on behalf of Airtel Networks Zambia Plc was Board Director, Mr Jito Kayumba who said he was happy to be part of a company that was being recognised for its good work and best governance practices.
“This award is testimony of all the hard work that each employee puts into Airtel to make it what it is. As a member of the Board, I am proud to be associated with Airtel as we continue to work towards earning the respect and trust of our shareholders, customers, employees and the communities we serve,” Mr Kayumba said.
