Absa Bank Zambia PLC unveils refurbished Mutaba Branch in Lusaka
Absa Bank Zambia PLC has unveiled its state of the art flagship branch, Mutaba Branch which is situated along
Lusaka’s Cairo Road.
Speaking during the unveiling of Mutaba Branch, Absa Bank Zambia PLC Managing Director, Mizinga Melu said, “We are excited to re-open Mutaba, which is our biggest branch and the first of five flagship branches to be revealed under our new Absa Bank Zambia PLC branding. After three months of closure, we have created a refreshed branch that will change the way we serve our customers and ultimately help us meet their evolving needs”.
In 2019, the Bank announced that as part of the rebrand, all its branches, ATMs and other infrastructure would be rebranded to Absa in a phased approach. The first Absa-branded branch to be launched was Centro Mall in Kabulonga opening its doors in October 2019. Other branches like Mutaba, Longacres and Livingstone had to be temporarily closed to facilitate remodelling, refurbishments and rebranding to Absa.
“We invested K5 million to remodel Mutaba Branch ensuring that it has state-of-the-art infrastructure and digital banking solutions. A total of K120 million will be spent across the branch network in Zambia to refurbish and rebrand all our customer touchpoints”, Mrs Melu added.
Mutaba Branch’s distinct features include:
- 6 intelligent ATMs with deposit-taking capabilities an improvement from the 2 which were previously available
- A newly opened Bulk Centre allowing the Bank to serve different customer segments including SMEs and corporates
- 10 Retail teller counters following feedback from clients that the branch had more counters which were mostly unmanned.
- A digital centre which will educate and assist customers to perform digital transactions without stepping into the branch
Absa Bank Zambia PLC Retail Banking Director, Mr Harton Maliki thanked customers for the patience whilst the branch was closed off for refurbishments and reiterated the Bank’s commitment to being customer obsessed.
He added that the Bank has over the last two years spend in excess of K100 million in technology to upgrade products and services so that customers can enjoy world-class and bespoke banking solutions.
With the rebrand, Absa Bank Zambia PLC has taken on a digitally-led focus and is committed to continue on the legacy of providing innovative banking solutions so that it can truly bring customers’ possibilities to life.
