Celebrating #GirlsInICT: Stepfanie Siyumbwa

Celebrating #GirlsInICT: Stepfanie Siyumbwa –  Bachelors in Biotechnology and currently studying for a Masters in Applied Science.

Why should more girls study or work in the ICT sector?

If you believe you have the passion for technology, take the leap towards your dream and never look back. The road will be rough, but as long as you BELIEVE in yourself and STAY POSITIVE, there will be nothing YOU cannot achieve.

How can Zambia help them be successful in it?

I believe that fostering technology among girls starts at home. Exposure to technology at an early age encourages creativity, increases learning opportunities via educational platforms/apps and allows them to gain experience early on in life. I also believe that instead of depending on an unreliable government to provide ways to educate our young women, we women in the technology sector can offer some of our time to teach a technology related class, at no cost, to any young lady interested and willing to learn.
