How to send Dropbox files in Facebook Messenger
If you use Facebook Messenger for file sharing and have Dropbox accounts, you can now send files to others within Messenger without ever leaving the app.
All you have to do is go to the ‘More’ feature in Messenger ( on iOS or Android) and choose ‘Dropbox’ as a source. It will then open up the files in your account and you can choose which one you want to share. You can share videos, images, GIFs, etc and when the recipient gets them, they won’t see a link to the file but the actual file. However, when they open the file, they will be redirected to their own Dropbox so they can view it fully or save it.
“We want people to communicate just the way they want to on Messenger, with everyone they care about,” said Stan Chudnovsky, head of product for Messenger. “Giving our users the ability to share their Dropbox videos and images in Messenger threads with just a few taps will help them bring more style and personality to those conversations.”
Application integration is becoming popular these days, showing how working together can increase your reach than working independently ever could. With over 800 million monthly active users, Messenger is a great partner for Dropbox right now.
It works in Whatsapp too… If you choose to ‘Share Document’ or ‘Photo/video library’ you can add Dropbox as a location.
Great tip thanks!
