What the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge will probably look like
Samsung has sent out invites to its ‘Unpacked‘ event where the new Samsung Galaxy S7 is expected to be launched. IT will happen in Barcelona Spain on the 21st of February, one day after the Mobile World Congress (MWC) where many tech companies meet to showcase their next innovations.
In a tweet Samsung only gave hints of what the phone’s capabilities are:

However, famous mobile editorialist (and tech leaker) Evan Blass (@evleaks) has shown images of what the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge will look like:
In his article on Venture Beat, he says the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge will have the following features:
- microSD card slots (expandable to 200GB)
- will be dust and water resistant
- Super AMOLED screens, at 1440 x 2560 quad HD
- bigger batteries at 3000mAh and 3600mAh for the S7 and S7 edge, respectively, up from 2550mAh and 2600mAh. They will be non-removable like their predecessors
- ‘Exynos 8 Octa 8890, a system-on-a-chip based partially on an ARM reference design, and offering four high-performance 2.3GHz cores along with four power-efficient 1.6GHz cores’
- 4GB of RAM, with storage choices of 32GB or 64GB
- the rear camera has been downsized from 16MP to 12MP, but pixels are not everything as the S7 variants will have an f/1.7 lens aperture compared with an f/1.9 one in the S6, making it more useful in low-lit environments. We may also see the bumpy protruding camera in the S6 disappear and fuse very smoothly into the back of the S7. The front camera stays 5MP
It really just looks like the Samsung Galaxy S6 range, so we should expect more out of performance than design.
