It looks like personal computers (PCs) are slowly losing demand. A global study by technology research giant Gartner has shown that PC sales worldwide have dropped for the 4th consecutive year.

The chart above was compiled by Statista showing the outcome of Gartner’s research on PC sales from 2006 to 2016. Global shipments dropped by 8 percent to 289 million in 2015, the lowest it’s been since 2007.

The low sales have been attributed to more people buying tablets, and also simply not buying any new PCs due to economic instabilities especially in emerging countries.
